Meet The Team

Acting on Experience is hosted by Michael Jibson, an Olivier Award-winning actor, writer, director and voiceover artist from Hull whose work has spanned theatre, television, film and radio. He trained at the Guildford School of Acting and with the National Youth Music Theatre, of which he is now a Patron.

Michael won the Olivier Award in 2018 for Best Supporting Actor in a Musical for his portrayal of King George III in the original London production of Hamilton, having previously been nominated in 2003 for Best Actor in a Musical for his performance in Our House. In 2019, he established the Hull & East Yorkshire Arts and Culture Trust (HEYACT), which aims to help young people from Hull and the surrounding region access careers in the arts.

Ian Miller is a creative with background in entertainment and education, who has established Something Real Media with an aim to produce work with real meaning as well as support artists bring their ideas to fruition and find and audience. His skillset covers photography, film, editing, writing, designing, web, and marketing (strategy and creative) both on and offline.

Over the last 25 years Ian has worked in the music industry as both a writer and photographer with work published in global titles such as Rolling Stone, Clash Magazine, and NME. His work in video saw him leading initial video pivots for Clash Magazine and WhatsOnStage in the late 00s, before he moved his energies into the education sector where he actioned a long-term creative marketing strategy for a new sixth form in East London.

Stuart Hancock is a composer and arranger whose work spans all media: film, TV, games, commercials and stage and concert works. In 2023, Stuart had concert music commissioned in honour of His Majesty the King, and had his third opera premiered at the Royal Academy of Music. He's best known for having composed the original soundtracks to series 2 of the BBC fantasy series Atlantis, the animated TV adaptation of We're Going On A Bear Hunt and the Netflix comedy horror Crazyhead. He won the BASCA British Composer Award in 2015 for his community song-cycle, Snapshot Songs.
